Human Consciousness, Business & Money – Integrating Purpose and Profit

Dilip ( changed name), manager of leading grocery delivery service company Zepto asked me a few days back ‘Sir, you always talk about uplifting your own human consciousness and it helps in business. I get that but what’s the relation with being conscious and making money?’.

I took a pause and said that it is everything to do with human consciousness to business and money. Today’s post is regarding that.

What do I mean by human consciousness? It is how you control your mind with ease; at the same time being alert with your physical senses. It may sound simple but our mind is a small monkey with toddler’s behaviour inbuilt. It hops thought to thoughts and generates more than 10000 unique thoughts per day identified by science.

On the other hand, business (which is my speciality) invites money to follow but most of the start up fails within 2 years of foundation as per statistics. I am not a traditional mentor and my take is very different to business. Methinks, if your consciousness has high regards, it is easy to learn business or altering your personality or improving your speech or else. Have you seen successful people with extremely high intellect are almost saint like, more spirituality drips in their words. A higher consciousness is the key to behold the power of learning and intelligence. That is why I sometimes say being spiritual is necessary to run any company or companies at the same time. It helped me a lot to get my own fair share of opulence in all of my ventures and continuously separated me from all noises in the society.

I segregated three aspects for raising the bar of consciousness and thus helps in a profitable business and they are as follows:

Anger: Controlling your mind from anger is one of the toughest traits and radically fruitful. Losing sanity while creating or managing business is losing grip on the same. Angry people gets resistance in business or worse. You can at maximum get to the state of being irritated but anger is a solid NO when reality is in check. No internal or external shareholder is happy when you are angry and the environment for work gets diluted.

Greed: I can’t emphasize the fact more that greed usually disrupts your business and financial condition in a long run. This is the way and I have seen many businessmen who, for the sake of greed, ruined their reputation or business. Greed in a perfectly little portion is good otherwise you won't bring money into your organisation but excessive use of it just ruins everything. I myself saw and heard of moonlighting in the companies and the employees or managers get absolute devastation when it occurs. In a similar manner owners lose their position financially when they don’t follow ethics. Perhaps, it is the worst trait to have.

Attachment: Neither you nor your work profile will last long after leaving this beautiful world. Aha I am not being too realistic but practical here to tell you one simple fact; nothing is permanent. Your attachment to old thinking, to older strategies or oldest not too nice habits are impermanent. In today’s era, while artificial intelligence compels you to risk even your job, why does being attached to old thinking patterns look lucrative or even meaningful?

These three human behaviors are inbuilt into our system and it deposits the stacks of negativity in business or personal life if not controlled consciously. I wish every person gets a better hold on their mind and do better in life.
